On November 8, 2014, more than 130 Citadel team members joined together with family and friends to volunteer at the food depositories across the U.S. as part of Citadel Service Day. Together they sorted nearly 29,000 pounds of produce and 11,000 cans of non-perishable items, helping stock the shelves of food pantries in our communities.
In Boston, 14 Citadel team members, family and friends volunteered at the Greater Boston Food Bank and packed approximately 2,800 pounds of donations.
In Chicago, 81 Citadel team members, family and friends volunteered at the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Together they sorted nearly 11,000 pounds of apples and 11,000 cans of non-perishable items.
In Dallas, Citadel team members, family and friends assembled boxes at the North Texas Food Bank for items to be distributed to local food pantries.
In New York, 21 team members, family and friends volunteered at City Harvest, sorting and repacking 12,000 pounds of apples.
In San Francisco, 13 team members, family and friends packed approximately 3,250 pounds of produce while volunteering at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank.
