Job Description

Risk Managers drive risk estimation and risk management across the firm. Risk Managers are trusted partners to our senior leadership and Portfolio Managers and are responsible for identifying key risk exposures and performance drivers; defining and monitoring risk guidelines, and developing quantitative analytics to support the risk estimation and management. A successful Risk Manager will play a critical role in positioning portfolios to be successful across a wide range of market conditions.
Key responsibilities:
  • Define, establish and manage risk frameworks for desks, strategies and the overall business
  • Communicate risk information to Portfolio Managers
  • Develop a real-time risk monitoring framework including market, credit and operational risk in collaboration with other Risk Managers and Analysts, as well as the Quantitative Research and Technology teams
  • Inform senior management and other constituencies of risk guidelines and procedures, risk profile evolution and any guideline exceptions
  • Respond to risk-related inquiries from internal partners including the Client and Partner Group, Portfolio Committee, Marketing, Legal and Portfolio Managers
  • Liaise with US regulatory agencies on risk management-related questions
  • Mentor and manage Risk Analysts
Skillset Requirements:
  • Prior risk or operational management experience, preferably within a hedge fund / prop trading or related financial services field
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in computer science, engineering, finance, mathematics, operations research, physics, statistics or a related field
  • Prior risk or operational management experience, preferably within a hedge fund / prop trading or related financial services field
  • Strong statistical modeling skills preferred
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced team environment
