Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced that Ken Griffin made a significant donation to the City of Chicago to support improvements to the city’s iconic Lakefront Trail. The $12 million donation will fund the creation of separate paths for cyclists and pedestrians along the busy 18-mile pathway. The goal of the project is to provide a safer and more enjoyable experience for thousands of joggers, cyclists and pedestrians who use the trail each day.

Ken thanked Mayor Emanuel and Superintendent Michael P. Kelly for their leadership in the trail separation project: “I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to contribute to this great undertaking and I applaud Mayor Emanuel and Superintendent Kelly in bringing this vision to reality,” said Ken. “I’m pleased and proud to support both of these great leaders in their dream of making our Lakefront better and safer for all of us who take such pleasure and joy in this great crown jewel of our city.”
