Job Description

Fundamental research analysts work closely with the trading team, using superior processes, data and intuition to forecast the first, second and third moment of a security’s price distribution around thematic and idiosyncratic events. Fundamental research analysts refine forecasts into actionable trade ideas.

Objectives:

Develop in-depth fundamental knowledge of a sector or industry, as well as broad base knowledge of financial markets
Identify pricing inefficiencies and collaborate with traders to monetize predictions
Identify new sources of data and transform unstructured data sets into signals
Own the information space you work within (i.e. large-cap tech) by monitoring trends in the marketplace
Employ holistic approach to predicting distribution of outcomes and making volatility predictions

Skills & Talents:

Bachelor’s, master’s or PhD in economics, commerce, applied math, engineering, computer science or related disciplines required
A strong interest in financial markets and a desire to learn about the fundamentals that drive them
Ability to think about the world systematically and quantitatively, as well as the ability to deal with uncertainty in a rigorous and statistical approach
Intermediate experience with programming, especially Python
