As of October 2022
Since launching in 2018, Ashler Capital has rapidly scaled to become a cornerstone equities business at the firm. Our teams invest using a sector-focused, market-neutral framework, focusing on producing industry-leading returns.
Led by veteran investment professionals with deep industry knowledge, our teams follow rigorous investment processes and benefit from longstanding, trusted relationships with management teams of their covered companies. They focus on understanding each company’s key performance drivers, strategies, leadership and industry trends to take thoughtful risk.
Our teams are led by experienced investment professionals who can build and manage a world-class team at significant scale. We seek original thinkers who have big ideas. We hire talent from a range of backgrounds, focusing on those with a meticulous approach to fundamental research and modeling.
Ashler’s culture is driven by meritocracy, collaboration and continuous learning. To maintain a meritocracy, we provide clear feedback and are transparent about how to progress from associate to portfolio manager.
We are set up to collaborate deeply. For example, we share insights within teams and across the business, so everyone benefits from each other’s knowledge. We challenge each other to improve and bring our best every day.
To enable continuous learning, we provide experienced mentors to help team members excel. We deploy behavioral analytics to help individuals identify areas for improvement and build upon their strengths. Team members also learn through structured programming, from our CEO speaker series to dedicated executive coaching.
Ashler’s teams benefit from Citadel’s powerful systems, including our cutting-edge infrastructure and technology. Our investment professionals are trained in the Citadel market-neutral framework by experienced and senior risk takers and have opportunities to learn directly from our business head, Matt Simon. Our team is taught how to use deep, fundamental research and the firm’s risk model to invest with conviction.
