An online programming competition of technical and creative problem-solving.
Terminal is an online games-based programming competition for university students around the globe studying software engineering and data science.
Build algorithms with your team and see real time results as you compete in a head-to-head, round-robin style tournament for the chance to win cash prizes.
It’s an opportunity to demonstrate how you thrive under pressure as you problem-solve through programming—but most importantly, how you do it as a team.
Apply your programming skills to a games-based setting with the goal of winning.
In Terminal, there is no one-fits-all strategy. Teams are challenged to demonstrate critical thinking, technical knowledge, and innovation.
Top teams win a cash prize.
Motivated students come together to form a collaborative, competitive and exciting environment.
Terminal events are held throughout the year across various regions. Navigate to the bottom of the page for a listing of upcoming events.
Submit your application and wait for an email from Citadel People Systems. You will need to take a short assessment quiz. If you have not completed an application for a Terminal event within the last year, you will need to complete an assessment form to be considered. See full program terms.
If you are chosen as a participant, it’s time to form a team. You will be invited to the Terminal platform and we will be in touch to help you form a team with other accepted applicants.
Terminal requires basic coding knowledge (Python, Java, and Rust are supported). Undergraduate and graduate students in good standing pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Math, Engineering, Statistical Modeling, Calculus, Computer Science, Physics, Economics, or related disciplines required.
