Gerald A. Beeson is the Chief Operating Officer of Citadel. As COO, he is responsible for the firm’s key corporate functions globally and is a member of Citadel’s Portfolio Committee. Prior to being named COO in 2008, Gerald served as Citadel’s Chief Financial Officer, a role he held from 2003 until 2021. Gerald joined Citadel in 1993 while completing his college degree and was among the company’s first employees.

Gerald received his MBA from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in Commerce with concentrations in Accountancy and Finance from DePaul University. He is registered as a certified public accountant with the State of Illinois. In addition, he has served on several industry related committees or boards.

Gerald is the Chair of the Board of Trustees for DePaul University. He is also a Vice Chair of the Board of Directors Big Shoulders Fund and a member of the Board of Trustees for Marist High School. Gerald is a member of the 2017 Class of Henry Crown Fellows within the Aspen Global Leadership Network at the Aspen Institute.
