When Junkai joined GQS as a Quantitative Researcher Intern, he came straight from academia with a PhD and zero background in finance. What surprised him most was how familiar the environment felt with rigorous research, intellectually curious colleagues and the space to build expertise in a new domain.
Over the summer, Junkai expanded his domain knowledge, learned from seasoned quantitative experts and began shaping his own intuition on the research questions that truly matter. His first step outside academia placed him in a new setting, but the core scientific approach was one he already knew.
